Iran, South Africa Call For Expansion of Mutual Ties
At the meeting, Mirdamadi said that political officials from both countries are determined to further broaden mutual ties.
Highlighting the crucial roles of parliaments in bolstering ties among governments and bringing them much closer, he expressed the hope that through close cooperation of the two parliaments, Iran and South Africa will witness further expansion of relations in all fields, IRNA reported.
To materialize the goal, both sides should share parliamentary experiences mainly at the foreign commission level as well as activate parliamentary friendship groups, he said.
Mirdamadi also appreciated South African's stand on Iran's peaceful nuclear energy program as stipulated in recent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
According to the Cultural Bureau and Public Relations Department of Majlis, the South African ambassador, for his part, expressed satisfaction over his visit to the Islamic Majlis and described the bilateral relations as developing and underlined the firm determination of his country's officials to broaden cooperation with Iran.
Exchange of visits by officials of the two nations will lead to mutual understanding and help consolidation of ties , he said and called for the formation of Iran-South Africa parliamentary friendship group.
